What's that tall bright green grass?
Nutsedge is sometimes confused with normal turfgrass, but is distinguished by its bright green color and fast growth rate.
This is hitting epidemic proportions on Long Island right now.
Do you have patches of bright green “grass” that are twice as tall as the rest of your lawn? You may have nutsedge. Though it appears grass-like, nutsedge is actually a sedge, and is a difficult weed to control. There are methods for controlling nutsedge, but in most cases multiple treatments are required.
